The mission of the Anderson First UMC Youth Ministry is to provide a safe environment for teens to develop Christian knowledge and to be compassionate disciplines of Jesus Christ, who are connected to the Church, as they become role models for their generation. Our vision is to work hands on to make a positive difference at Anderson High School.
We feel strongly that the current generation of teenagers is dealing with more pain in their lives than any generation before them. That's why this group of teens needs the Church, and more specifically Jesus, now more than ever. If we are the "hands and feet" of Jesus, then it is our responsibility to reach out to these young people and show them all is not lost, and to show them there are people out there who care for them.
Aimed at 6th-12th grade students, Pulse meets most Sunday evenings from 5pm-7:30pm during the school year. We begin each Pulse with a meal, a bible-based curriculum and several games.
Youth also attend many activities including summer church camp and other mission-related activities.
