Rev. Jeff Taylor

Rev. Jeff Taylor came to Anderson First United Methodist Church on July 1, 2009, after serving as Senior Pastor of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Decatur for the past nine years.

He and his wife Brenda have served United Methodist churches in North Indiana since 1989.  Prior to his time in the Methodist Church, Jeff’s experience included a lengthy tenure as Minister to Students at First Baptist Church in Elgin, Illinois, as well as ten years in the building industry.

Jeff holds degrees in Biblical Studies and Psychology, and completed his Master of Divinity degree at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, Indiana.  While there he had particular interest in the field of Theology and was awarded the William R. Duffy Prize in Systematic Theology.

He and his wife Brenda have been married for thirty six years and have two daughters, Alicia and Brooke.  Alicia, husband Ryan, and grandson, Gus, live in Indianapolis, and Brooke, husband Seth, and granddaughter Rowan live in Ft. Wayne.

Jeff and Brenda have enjoyed traveling in recent years, love music, and enjoy time at their cabin in Tennessee.  When Jeff has the chance he likes to fly fish and work with his bird dog, Dizzy (Gillespie).

The Taylors are looking forward to becoming a part of the communities of Anderson and of First United Methodist Church.
