Donna Goings

Rev. Donna K. Goings came to Anderson First in the summer of 2005, after serving 5 years as a part-time local pastor at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Before becoming a pastor, Donna had a variety of careers in health care at Parkview Health System in Fort Wayne. Her nursing positions included being a staff nurse, a nurse educator, and a manager in nursing informatics. She worked in human resources as director of organizational development, management, and leadership education.

Donna is Senior Associate Pastor at Anderson First. She was ordained as a full elder in the United Methodist Church in 2008. Her educational credentials include a diploma in nursing from Parkview-Methodist School of Nursing in Fort Wayne, a B.S. degree in General Science from Grace College, and an M.S. in Education from University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne. She graduated from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio, with a Master’s of Divinity degree in 2005.

Donna was happily married for 33 years to her husband Rob, who died from cancer in 2005. Rob and Donna lived in Fort Wayne and were members of Good Shepherd UMC. Their family included two daughters. Shannon and husband Scott live and work in Bloomington, Indiana. Sherri begins a new role as associate professor at Carleton College in Northfield,Minnesota, in late summer of 2010. Donna’s family also includes her dog, Mickey, a 13 pound bundle of energy and undetermined origin. Donna’s hobbies are many and diverse—reading, traveling, walking and hiking, gardening, cooking, and socializing with friends and family.
