Rev. Jeff Taylor, Senior Pastor
Rev. Jeff Taylor was appointed to serve Anderson First United Methodist Church in July of 2009. He and his wife Brenda have served United Methodist churches in North Indiana since 1989. Most recently he was the Senior Pastor at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Decatur, Indiana where he served for nine years. Prior to his time in the Methodist Church, Jeff’s experience included a lengthy tenure as Minister to Students at First Baptist Church in Elgin, Illinois, as well as ten years in the building industry.
Jeff holds degrees in Biblical Studies and Psychology, and completed his Master of Divinity degree at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, Indiana. While there he had particular interest in the field of Theology and was awarded the William R. Duffy Prize in Systematic Theology.
He and his wife Brenda have been married for thirty eighty years and have two daughters,Alicia and Brooke. Alicia, husband Ryan, and grandson, Gus, live in Indianapolis, and Brooke,husband Seth, and granddaughter Rowan live in Ft. Wayne.
Born in Detroit, but raised on the Northwest side of Chicago, Jeff continues his loyalty to the Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks.
Jeff and Brenda have enjoyed traveling in recent years, love music, and enjoy time at their cabin in Tennessee. When Jeff has the chance he likes to fly fish and work with his bird dog, Dizzy (Gillespie).
